Valve cover

So accidentally over tightened one of the bolts that go into the valve cover. This has stripped the aluminium inside the cover. At this point it's holding in place and not leaking when running so I'll leave it. I want to know though how would I fix this and how much do you think it would cost?

Yes it's doable although I've never had to do it myself.  The bolt you are referring to threads into the cam bearing cap, correct? It's debatable, but some people will just swap out the cap if it's marked with the same clearance as the original.

I wouldn't swap btw, I would attempt the coil first while it's removed from the bike.

I've helicoiled these. Easy, you can remove the cam cap and have it outside and helicoil em clean it out, etc etc then put it back on the bike. That way you don't get the shavings in the motor.

I have helicoiled them a few times. Take the cap off the cam and do it in a vice. Thread is M7x1.0, its not a common form so you might have to search hard for a kit. Get one that includes a pilot drill and buy/beg/borrow a tapwrench.

If you do buy a kit you may as well do all 4 at the same time

You could also thread it to 8 X 1.0 a and get a washer on it etc. But washer has to be tight onto the bolt, cant be those loosey goosey lowes washers. You mau need to get a rubber washer under a metal washer.
