Rust by the plug?

I've noticed a small amount of rust sround my right side spark plug. the plug is just peachy. my dealer/mechanic guy says it's nothing to worry about. there is no rust on the left side. any thoughts on what's up? the only thing(s) i can think of is sitting on the sidestand in the rain, and water hanging out around the plug, or maybe when i wrecked it, it laid on it's right side for, ummm, uhhh, maybe 5 minutes? i don't know, i wasn't completely there. but anyway, after the wreck, it sat alongside the road by the woods for a day before i could load it into the truck. maybe water, condensation, and gas lingering around it while it's on it's side.

is this something i should worry about?

also, what do i use to oil my chain?

OK the plug is fine, the cylinder is aluminium... so cant rust... the rust is comming from somewhere above it and dripping on it and looking like its rusting there. Find out where its rusting, its not the head.
Cool.

Use chain wax I think it lubes better and your first ride out you won't get a splattery stripe on your bike and your clothes

what are some possible places that the rust could be coming from? the bike's only been on the road for one season, and i noticed the rust last summer. that's too soon for the tank to have rust in it, isn't it?

Well probably. The frame would be my first guess, but like you said it is too soon. Think it could just be general dirt like crap... and not rust.
