Turn Signal Malfunction...

So I installed LED turn signals on my bike, I also installed an LED flasher relay to maintain the correct flash rate, only problem is it does this...

When using the left signal, the right will also flash at about 1/2 brightness, when i use the right, it works fine (no flashing on the left).

Any ideas for what is causing this? Only thing i can think of is a bad flasher relay...

Thanks in advance for any info.

Is that a gif file? I can't see it on my phone.

Try pulling out the indicator bulb on the dash. Most likely there is a signal crossing over from that bulb.

Well, it does have to do with the indicator... unfortunately nothing is wired wrong, its caused by using LED indicator lights. It never occurred to me that they have a polarity when I replaced them with the LEDs.

Does anyone know a work-around for this while still keeping the LED indicator? Worst case ill have to use an incandescent.

Maybe you will need some led turn signal resistors? One for each indicator.
Thats how i got away with led indicator mod. I didn't use the flasher relay like you do.
But everything works out perfectly.
Those resistors are cheap on _bay! :thumb:

Thanks for the link big rich, I will probably do adidasguy's mod eventually, but under the tank.

My idea to revert back to the incandescent didn't work. The indicator just blinks very dim while all 4 signals light up reguardless of switch position.

Works fine with no indicator light installed, going to keep it like that for the time being.
