Should I just give her a good clean? I've never jetted before this was my first time. As I said in my other thread she ran fine the first 1-2 hours and then she started stalling/bogging down in 1st and 3rd. Would stall on every stop/slow down. When I got home she was leaking gas out of the carb everywhere/oil light would come on (maybe from over heating?).

When you say, "she was leaking gas out of the carb everywhere" From what part of the carbs does the fuel seep out?

Your float bowls might be adjusted too high and not closing the fuel valve (float bowls too full). Or the little cone-shaped fuel valve is improperly seated/damaged and fuel is seeping out around it.

The leaking gas is most likely comming past the float valve which is the little silver pointy thing that hangs onto the float tab by the little wire spring.  It's located between the 2 plastic boxy things.  These are notorious for leaking.  I think the oil light comes on because this problem fills the crankcase with gas and causes the oil to be extremely thin.  YOu should check the oil level and smell the dipstick to see if it smells like gas.  YOu will have to change the oil, otherwise damage to the bearings can occur.  It should not be ridden in this condition.  Check to make sure your fuel petcock was in run and not in prime.  Those float valves are tricky and should be changed by someone with experience.  Since the carbs are off, you could take them to a trusted shop in your area.  Or, you can replace them yourself but follow the instructional posts here very carefully.

"Yeah.... the Guinness is all gone."

I wanted to say that I also see what appears to be a foreign substance, technical term "SMEGMA",  :icon_lol:, on the float bowl o-rings. If these don't seal right then gas will also run out everywhere.

your last photo shows a small rubber tube on the right carb with a hole in it . this is meant to have a rubber cup to stop having a vacume leak .You use this port when you balance your carbs..

Kijona

Gaskets are cruddy. Replace them. Scrape that funk off the mating surface.

Close but not quite. The right one actually doesn't have a hole in it, and isn't used for syncing the carbs. You're thinking of the tubes in the first picture, the right one which actually does have a cap on it. :)

What kind of mods are you running that you have 147.5 mains? Unless you've got both intake(lunchbox or pods) AND a full exhaust, you're going to be way rich... :nono: Even with just lunchbox a 145 main (no o-ring/washer) is a bit too rich.
Some say...

you are right i was looking at the carbs front on  my mistake.I took the cap off and connected it directly to the vacume operated fuel tap  and fitted a tee on the other vac line and put the cap there ,i can now tune it with out taking the tank off .Put both lines into your balance gauges and turn tap onto reserve.PRESTO EASY TUNE .Required 20 inches vac line and 1 tee  .Regarding your origional post,.follow the previous posts of others your answers are there.

Whatever else u do i agree with Kijona that those mating surfaces must be,at the minimum, pristine clean.

PS....Dache was last active in Sept/2012.
If he hasn't solved this by now he never will.

Maybe there's the actual name for the part in that thread (I don't have time to read through it all, I'm at work lol) and also, don't forget about posting a thread in the For Sale/Wanted section asking for what you need !

Good luck and I hope you find it

Wow, I found the slide carrier you mentioned on this website from BMW.  That is great information for anyone who has broken theirs during a rebuild.  And it's not unaffordable at about $30!

They also have a picture of the o-ring that the carrier sits on with a ruler, and it appears to be a M1x11 round o-ring.  Buna-N O-rings would be ok in a carb, correct?

EDIT: sorry this was meant to be a reply to the 3d printing thread.
