The clutch lever for starting is a bit wonky for my gs500 right now.

To start my bike to get the electric start working, fully compressing the clutch lever will not allow me to start my bike. I have to let go of it around 1 cm for the electric start to go off. I'm assuming something is wrong with the mechanism or maybe contacts in the mechanism is dirty or not tuned.

It's been getting worse to where I'm needing to let go and re compress the lever 5-10 times before It will let me start the bike up.
I've looked at previous threads on bypassing it, and I've done a temporary fix by unplugging the wire and putting a paper clip in the wires to complete the circuit so I no longer have to use the clutch lever at all to start, but to me its a temporary fix.

Anyone know what could be up with the mechanism? I've never really looked at what actually causes the start via the clutch lever so I'm a bit lost.

Thanks.

~edit- Okay I pretty much answered my own question. I watched the video of adidasguy on the clutch lever and It helped me figure out the switch.

I took it apart and there was a bunch of gunk and stuff on the contacts making it stiff. I cleaned it out and its now all smooth and working.
