There is an 88 Honda Hawk GT 650 for sale on craigslist near me for 2,800 (asking price).  I was wondering if anyone had ever owned one of these.  I did some basic research and saw it's a V-twin, but seems a little under-powered at around 55HP.  Anyone have any personal experience?  I know these don't come up very often.

My brother had one that he bought new. Rare, cool bike. Sweet handling chassis, can use respringing. A bit down on power as you noted. Collectible, a nice one isn't going to depreciate. The closer to stock the better. Any sort of cobby mod that can't easily be undone will lessen the value greatly.

The GT650's are great bike, but they are rare to find. Not many people want to sell them once they get them.
