Anyone know of a good cheap exhaust protector for the stock exhaust? Or the Yoshi (which I don't have yet but considering)

Thinking something along these lines:

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Fit-100MM-140MM-Oval-Exhaust-Protector-Can-Cover-Black-GSX-R-600-750-/262425267369?hash=item3d19c3cca9:g:keIAAOSwKfVXLb6L

But that is for an oval can.. going to measure things and do some more searching but thought I'd throw the question out there!

US$30.......As the eternal optimist i would spend my money on something more worthwhile for my GS.

$24 actually, which is plenty cheap for me compared to the R&G's at $60 or so. But I don't think that one will fit.

I just know my exhaust will probably be the first thing trashed at the track, for everyday riding less worried...

$24 if your going to China to collect it....not particularly cost effective.  :)
If u really want this make your own,it's a simple enough design.

$24, free shipping, not sure I'm following you.

If I could make something really quickly that I could count on, sure no problem. But lots of projects and would rather spend $20-30 than hours sourcing and tinkering at this point. :)

That is a nifty item... idk why I never thought of this before.

I spent probably too much on my exhaust system when I bought my GS and I would just... ugh I don't wanna think about it if I scratched it up.

The shipping is listed as free for me too when I sign in and view the item. I'm kinda on the fence though, this is an item I'd be tempted to make myself as fetor suggested... but also I have like 20 too many projects going on right now as it is... and perhaps I'd just go ahead and buy one to avoid the extra thing added to my to-do list

You mentioned how it's for an oval can... but I know how flexible hose clamps can be so maybe when tightened it would take the shape of the round stock can? Hmm.. again though, is it worth the money to get it and then it not work  :icon_neutral:

When you search on ebay I'm guessing no universal fit round exhaust protectors show up? I'd look right now but I'm at work and.. well... should get to work LOL

I'm guessing the hose clamp would be fine but don't think the plastic compound would flex much.

Now you all have me brainstorming, thinking about just ordering some Delrin and shaping my own, just not sure about the clamp mounts...

Unless I just throw my hands up and order an R&G I'll likely have some research forthcoming :)

You're right... that's what I was thinking as well about the plastic compound... probably not too flexible.

I had a vision of a really rough way to make one... big hose clamp and some of that neoprene fuel hose... but really chunky thick walled stuff.

You'll have to update this thread if you do go the "make my own" route!  :D
