Does the restrictor go on or off with the stock filter element. Stock exhaust and 130/20/60 are my carb settings..

Thanks

Sorry, don't exactly understand your question.

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

K&N filters have a removable restrictor ring, which you leave in place if bike is stock or remove if you have done jets and exhaust.

Wasn't aware stock filter had a restrictor ring? Don't go tearing anything off it if it's glued on there!

Stock 01-02 air filters had a band of metal an inch or so wide around the outside to reduce air flow.  My 02 ran flawlessly year around in temps down to 20F with these restricted stock filters and with stock jets for over 100k miles.  Only on 01-02 models, all other years without restrictor band.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

Sorry,

It's a black round rubber thingamabob. A K and N filter was with the bike when I bought it but I went back to the stock air filter and was wondering if I should put the "restrictor" back on or not. It fits into the stock filter, that's why I was a bit confused.

No. The ring is only for the k&n filter which is a little more free flowing than an oem unit
