Hello. After numerous, unfortunate times being hit while parked, hit by moving cars and the 1x 0r 2x being dropped by myself this GS500F finally wants a make over. She wants to be naked with a classic look. I am the least mechanical inclined person. I make commercials and I'm good with a camera and editing software not with a wrench and blow torch. Therefore where do I start with this make over? Any hobbyist you want to make champagne money in Los Angeles to help? I did find this GS thread, http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=21212.0 but I don't have the tools and probably the patience.

I haven't decided on the following yet and I would love some advice;

1. Single or Dual headlight?
2. Side Mirrors on end of handle bars or the stock position?
3. How much of the existing parts can I recycle?
4. The Fairings are all banged up, cracked in points.

Thanks folks!

Because the bike is really a thinly dressed up old bike, it is easy to "classic" it. The biggest drawback visually is the tank and the loop frame at the front but it has been done. the rest is just decide a design brief do some drawings and go for it. Classic British probably the easiest direction.
Don't think you will need a torch as the rear rails are pretty much 60's/70's except square instead of round. Hacksaw useful.  Find a friend with fibreglass ( innegra) skills and look around for a earlier style tank and you are most of the way there.
Not my cup of tea but plenty have done it.
