So. Late last year, I was taking a hard left turn and my rear tire hit some gravel and down I went. I was fine. got up and brushed myself off and started the bike up and off I went. The bike looked fine and ran fine (considering it was 10:30 at night.) I got off work in the morning to find a very small oil spot on the ground by my bike. I looked everywhere but couldnt find the leak. I thought nothing of it. then that oil spot appeared everywhere I was parked. Well long story short, I found the leak after a few days. (when I actually took time to really look). I found that when I went down, I cracked the left side stator cover.

2001 Gs500 with silver coated engine. (not black) In need of left side cover for stator. I have a brand new gasket and the stator is still good. Whats your price with shipping to 17043 (Pennsylvania USA)

Here is somethings you can try in the mean time. That spot isn't a pressure fitting.
So Clean that part and try silicone or JB weld to seal it.
Park it on the center stand.

Last option is to weld it. You need a guy that is a good tig welder and may have to take off the case and clean it for 1/2" both sides of it.

Cool.

that doesnt sound like a bad Idea.. The crack is not that big and there isnt a hole in it. I usually only find a spot with a 3 inch diameter. Ill do that this weekend.
