Left side running RICH...

Hi all, haven't been here for a while. Haven't ridden my bike for a while also, 2yrs, but try to start her up once a month.

So I have some time this summer to ride but I'm running into an issue with the bike. My bike has advanced timing, pods and under belly modified dual short mufflers.

My left cylinder is running very rich. It would foul up unless I adjust the AF screw to 1 turn out. The right cylinder is running perfect at 3.75 turn out for AF.

I have tested both ignition coils with a volt meter and they are perfect. There is spark on the left side but I'm not sure if it is weak or adequate. It is blue and not orange.

I guess the only thing left are the carbs (boot leak, clogged jet...).

What do you guys think could be the issue?

Does it run better once it is warmed up? I'm thinking either the choke is stuck open, left pod clogged up, high fuel level on the left carb, or..... something else all together.

It starts up fine and runs fine. Idles steady between 1300-1500. It's just that the right cylinder is hotter than the left. I let it run for 10 mins stand still on idle and by touch, right cylinder and exhaust output is much hotter than left.

Will check the choke cable this weekend when I pull the tank and and prob carb.

What would cause high fuel level in carb?

High fuel level in carbs is usually caused by incorrect float height or failing float valve. Unless you're referring to too much gas flowing through the jets in which case the spring/washer/e-clip settings on the slide needle might be set improperly.

Hi, sorry I don't have any advice but I do have a question.

Do you have a project thread about your bike or a photo gallery?   It looks effen sweet.

seamax

It has been a long time. There is a thread somewhere but don't know if pics are still hosted.

You can click on my board name and search all my posts.

@ lucas: In the past when I'd see old posts from seamax I'd think the same thing...!! The bike looks really slick and I'd like to know more about it as well !!

@ seamax: I'm sure I'll have time to search this evening later but if the pics aren't hosted anymore, maybe you could help us out and do like a summary of what you've done and provide us with some bike porn?  8)
