Maintenance questions for new to me 2000 GS500E

Folks, I am looking forward to you guys for your input and advice. I recently acquired a 2000 GS500E with ~5900 miles and not much history except that it's running and in good condition

So far:

1- Changed Engine Oil/Filter

2-Replaced/bled brake fluid for front/rear

3-Lubed Clutch/Throttle cables, adjusted free play on clutch

4-Cleaned Chain, still need to adjust it(chain slack should be between 0.8-1.2 inches, correct?)

5-Replaced battery

6-Tightened all bolts

Questions What else should I be paying attention to or doing? Any other basic maintenance I should be doing or looking at?

I am going to look at Air filter and spark plugs, though they look in good condition.  Thanks guys

Have you checked out the wiki yet? Most of the general maintenance tasks are noted there along with general intervals. For the record, they are also noted in either a Clymer's or Haynes manual...

Thanks very much. I have looked at Wiki religiously and that's how I did all of the above tasks

Was asking if I should stick to mileage or year as indicator in terms of replacing things?

Some are mileage based. Others are time based. Still others are as needed.
