Hi All,

I recently noticed a small oil leak from the left side of the engine (pic 1+2). I took off the front sprocket cover and cleaned the grease/ gunk out of it however it is still leaking. It appears to be coming from this area where the case cover, front Sprocket cover and block meet (pic 3) also when I took off the cover for the second time there seemed to be some oil built up (possibly coming from) the seal with the three yellow wires in pic 4. Not sure if this is source as I don't know how the oil would migrate upwards. Anyways just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on which seal it might be, as I'm not very mechanically inclined.

Thanks!

Yes, this is how it started for me, after a month or two it was spraying oil all over my foot it can seem tricky to tell where it's coming from. You need a new stator cover gasket. Probably. When I took mine off it was a mess, must have been put on wrongly, which can be tricky because the magnet snaps the cover on.

You'll need a bit of high temperature silicon sealant for the small rubber grommet that keeps the wires attatched to the cover.

I had to use gasket remover and it stripped off some paint off the cover because I did not know that the metal paint was paint, doh! but it's no big deal. A razor will be OK providing you are ready for a tedious few hours, unless you're lucky.
