Hi everyone,
Somewhat new to the forum and I'm looking to purchase a GS from ebay.  Here's an auction link:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2461274409#ShippingPayment .  Opinions?  I'd prefer not spending much more than $1750 or so for this year and color, but it does have low miles and seems very well kept.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Looks like a nice bike to me, already has an aftermarket windscreen on it. Seems like he's gonna buy a new battery for it too. I'd have to say that's a good price, from what I know of bikes (admittedly, not a lot). I've seen bikes with more miles go for more.

Right, looks to be a very well kept bike, has the matching windscreen, and comes with a new battery, bike cover, and bike lock.  The auction is ending today and I'm just not sure what a good maximum bid for a bike in this condition and with these accessories would be.  I'm guessing maybe $1800 all things considered, but just not sure.  I've seen later model bikes go for a bit more than that recently, but also having 3-4 times the miles.

With these and most other bikes... really what costs more is the fact that its pretty. This one is and you are paying for that.
Cool.

Sweet looking bike.  Look like a good deal actually.

Looks like a nice unmolested bike... That orange/black is my favorite Gs color combo.  You might want to consider modifications like Progressive springs, rejetting, and better tires in your final purchase price.  I'd say go for it!

Did you take into account that you have to go and pick it up?  How much is that going to cost in time and money?

How far is White Plains from you and do ypou hhave a truck to transport it back home since he listed it as "pickup only" so he has no plans to ship it for the high bidder.

Well, thanks for the advice everyone, but the auction snipers really got to this one.
Bids went up $250 in the last 15 seconds...
Anyway, thanks again.   :)

That sucks bigtime.  I'd like to see a change in eBay's bidding rules so that the auction remains open after the closing time.  Then, more bids are allowed until one minute passes without a bid (going once, going twice...).  This will give those without sniping software a chance to collect their thoughts and make their best bid.  When I looked at it, the price was at a lowball level.  If it didn't change, and $250 was added at the lasrt minute, I'd have been tempted to bump it up a notch or two higher.  Keep looking; I hope you luck into a better one...
