Rev Limiter Question

Hi everybody,

Been reading information about rev limiters, searching on here for threads related to the topic, etc... debating if I want to install one on my GS some day.

My question is, will this one work?

The only one I could find any info about on gstwins is the DRL-400 2 stage... but I would rather just have a single stage (if I am understanding what I've been reading) and I can't seem to find a 400 single stage.

Are you tracking or racing your bike? I wouldn't install a rev limiter for normal street use... Are you really redlining that often that you're worried about damaging the engine?

Lol no qc I do not redline my bike... I know when to shift  ;)  :kiss3:

Was asking the question to gain knowledge on the subject from the people here... and also because I thought it might be another fun project for me since I really enjoyed doing the one I just finished.

I figured you know when to shift lol, it was more of rhetorical question since I assumed the answer was no.  I just think a rev limiter is a strange thing to want to put on a bike that you don't redline often (track days/racing, etc). Though, if you're just looking for another fun project, then I don't mean to discourage you. Go for it if that's what you wanna do!

As for whether or not the limiter you specified will work, I haven't a clue. Someone much more knowledgeable than me will have to answer that.

Yeah I'm wondering if anyone else will reply... I did searches and read what threads came up but I wasn't able to find much. And I totally get why, as you said, race bike use, etc.

Oh well... time to get ready for work  :cool:
