Mounting F headlight after making bike naked

I know there has been threads on this before but my case is slightly different. The bike got slightly wrecked at the front end recently and the plastic around the headlight cracked at the sides and I'm worried the bit of the plastic which has snapped off in the middle is where I am supposed mount it with universal headlight brackets.

What do you guys think? Is it still mountable?

The damn things are expensive to buy and I actually personally  prefer this look to the alternate E headlight anyway.
