Sawpping an 04 left control for an 09. Wiring diagrams.

So my haynes manual only goes up to 06. Im needing the wiring diagram. For the 09. What im trying to do is swap the 04 out for the 09 left handle bar control but the plugs are different. It looks like the wires are mostly the same color but. The new one has a plastic wire connector with 10 wires. The old one has two yellow plastic connectors with 8 and 2 wires. And the new one also has a black one with two wires that i think is the control switch.

Is there anywhere i can get the diagram without buying an additional manual does anyone know for sure if all the wire are the same? Ita hard to tell without yanking them all out of the plastic connectors

I have wiring diagrams for 04 and 06....06 should be same as 09...

I don't know if I can send them to you..but I can look at them and answer any specific questions.

I'll look at both now, and try to see how they would match up...wire colors etc...

Ok...here's the deal....

I'm pretty sure the '06 diagram is the same for the '09.....so use the manual / diagrams you have..

My 04 diagram does show the two connectors...and later models have only one connector.

The wire colors do not change thru those model years...

Both diagrams show 11 wires, not ten...but...."passing light switch" is not installed for all countries....

the wire colors are the same on both sides of the connector(s)..that is, the handle bar switches, and the bike.....EXCEPT TWO!!!!!!

One wire for the clutch lever position switch is different!  it is Black / yellow on the switch side, and yellow/green on the bike side.

Also for the passing light switch (if you bike even has this)  one wire is orange/red on the switch side and orange on the bike side

I hope explaining this in words helps...again if you have specific questions I can reference the wiring diagrams..

well my '09 (USA model) does not have a passing light switch...

The wiring diagram for both '04 and '09 have a note for the passing light switch which says "for P24"

I'm not sure what that means but I figure it is for different versions of the same bike..

I'll try to research this in the maintenance manual when I get some time

Ok..passing light switch for P-24....

P-24 means models for Australia...

So not on USA models...(P-03)

The "P code" tells you what country the bike is designed to fit the legal requirements fo r..
