okay, so i picked up my frame and siwng arm and a half dozen other parts i had alum-oxide blasted.  looked great.  washed them off and strung them up.  i went to the store last week and picked up some spray cans.  duplicolor.  one can self-etching primer, one can primer sealer, one can gloss black, one can clear.

i reach into the bag, and grab the can with the primer grey cap that says "primer" on it.  spray the parts, they came out pretty good i think.  as i'm tossing the can, i realize, i sprayed the primer sealer, not the self-etching primer.  great.  i'm so mad at myself for making such a dumb mistake.

anyway, the question now is, do i bother spraying the self-etching primer, and then another coat of primer sealer, or just go straight to the base coat?  i can't imagine spraying the primer at this point would make any sense, since it would be bonding tot he coat of primer sealer that's on there, and not the metal.

thoughts?

thanks,

Don't worry about it.  Since you started with nicely prepped parts, that primer sealer should do the job.  That etching primer won't do you any good now; try to get a refund and pickup another can of base coat for an extra layer of black.  The worst that could happen is that you'll have another winter project a few years from now.  That self-etching primer is  good, though; I sprayed some chrome parts I rough-sanded to scuff up, and the paint has held amazingly well.
