Hi ladies and gents.  I was wondering if any of you all had any links to videos or pictured tutorials on removing the front cowling.  I found a few that weren't all that great so I figured i'd turn to my old reliable source of good info,  you guys n gals : ).  I'm sure it's not all that difficult but it's raining for the next few days so I can't go out and explore it atm and she remains covered in the rain.  Just figured i'd do a little research on it before heading out with wrenches in hand since I have the time. Finally going to fix the plastic cracks from the turn signal being punched through when I laid her over at a stop sign after putting my foot in some dirt. Thanks folks and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas,  Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter solstice or whatever wonky and fun traditional celebration that took place in the last few weeks.  Cheers from NC and thanks for any replies!

Hi SirHansford! I right away thought of this vid from the great adidasguy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2lIhoUUewo

BUT I'm guessing by front cowling you mean the nose fairing and windscreen? The vid only shows how to remove the side fairings. Do you happen to have a Haynes manual that might show ya how?

Good luck

I dont have any links to give but I had to remove my bike's entire font end after I crashed over the summer. I can tell you that removing the front cowl is relatively easy. I was able to figure out what bolts/fasteners needed to be removed without any kind of guide.

Sorry I don't have anything more substantial to contribute, but best of luck to you. I'm sure you won't have any trouble. Like I said, its really easy to remove.

ETA: The vid that ShowBiz posted may be just for the side fairings, but you will still need to do that before removing the front cowling.

I also don't have any links but I too have removed the nose cowling and it is easy. The initial step is to remove the side panes, and once you do that the only real difficulty is in getting the clips out (you push the pins up from underneath, if memory serves). The rest is fairly obvious. I did it without a manual or detailed instructions, and had no problems.

Good luck,

Barry
Back on bikes and loving it.
