Will float height change with float needle + float valve from rebuild kit?

I'm putting in new float valves from a K&L rebuild kit. From what I've read, an OEM needle won't seat correctly in the valve from a rebuild kit, so I'll use the needles from the kit as well. Will the float height need to be tweaked at all with the rebuild parts? IIRC the float height for 2001+ carbs needs to be 13 mm +/- 1.

Possibly. Since you'll be in there anyway it's a good idea to check the float height.
