the tool did not come with the bike in the tool kit ?

.... Maaaaate!... The gs500 toolkit? .. Folk consider themselves lucky if the kit contains the rear shock adjuster!  ... Or even that the kit is present!!.... Having a socket to fit that slotted nut would be like finding the keys to fort knox and a timetable for guard patrols in your letterbox! ;)

Custom made tools exist on ebay. I almost bought one when I recently redid my steering bearings but elected to use a drift to remove the lock-nut. I reinstalled hand tight and gave it one light tap to secure it and tension was fine. 30+ ft. lbs. seems excessive.

HAH! my hacked up piece of crap, has its OEM tool kit with it! no such adjuster in it..

well, can't say "with it" as its probably in my garage with the rest of the "usless tools" the only one I know where's at, is the shock adjuster. so do I win a prize? or do I have to show I actually have it all? because that wont happen, LOL
