I think the swingarm makes the bike.  When I finish my turd I need to look into getting something like that if I don't find a swap from something,....:cookoo:

how much longer is your chain?  I need an xl chain,....

Hajajaha. U do you say "turd"?? That's funny brother.  You should have seen my bike when I first got it. It was the definition of ugly.

I counted 138 links on my chain brother

I'm glad u dig the swingarm.  It was a hassle to find someone to make it for me. I had also first thought about custom fitting some swingarm extensions from another bike. But I really wanted a 1 piece swingarm.  But I suppose if your handy, you could make the extensions from another bike work. You might need to machine them down a bit to fit in the end of your current swingarm.  And I just checked and my new swingarm is actually closer to 10 inches longer than the original.  I still have the original swingarm.  Hope that helps brother

mine's the biggest turd on this site,...been trying to finish it up recently though.  I'd really like to get some F fairings like yours and mold them to cover up everything.  Funny when you hack the tail off and then want to put it back on.
Thanks for info on links.  I picked up a 110 and wasn't long enough.
Can I be nosey and ask how much that swingarm came out to be?

I should be receiving the bar end weights soon. I'll post another pic like this once I put the bar ends on. I've seen how some people put the clip one on top of the triple without removing the top plate and they just look too high for my taste. Kinda like the 89 clip ons. They are very nice. But just to high for me. I honestly would put them even lower if I could. I love how clip ons look when placed under the triple,  but it's not possible on the gs5 without removing the fairing.

No problem.  I'm a bit embarrassed to say the swingarm ended up costing me about 1100. California probably has some of the best custom fab shops, but some of the most expensive too. I understand the price though.    It's a quality piece.  It fit like a glove. The even made me a new rear brake bracket.  They informed id need one for the extension and wider rear wheel.  They were right. I would have been screwed if they hadn't let me know. It's an old-school shop and the 3 brothers that own it really care about the quality of their work.

I was able to put the handlebar ends . (Chrome spikes) I also have some regular black end weights,  but the spikes look so cool. I love em. And I just put a new o-ring chain. Not the best brand but looks really good and tough.

I love the way my passenger seat area and the gas tank make the driver seat dip down low into the bike. When I drive my bike, i don't feel like I'm on top of the bike, I actually feel like I'm in the Bike.

It's hard to explain. I drove my buddy's r6. Which I love by the way. Awesome bike. But I felt like I was on top instead of in the Bike.

Thanks CBR. I  appreciate that brother.  Have you or anyone else replaced the foot pegs with some aftermarket sets for the front and rear?. I ordered a set online.  But the rear are soooo small.  Even the front pair were small, but bigger then the rear pair. I put on the front pair but I'm still thinking about putting the rear cuz they're just so small.

I haven't replaced mine yet but I did order some last week. After reading on the wiki and doing a search on here, seems that gsxr pegs can be modified to fit our GS's.

There are also the ones found on the Gimbel site ('bout halfway down the page) http://www.whaccessories.com/GS500Accessories.htm but that price isn't something I'm prepared to pay without trying to improvise/modify first.
Superbike bars, '04 GSXR headlight & cowl, DRZ signals, 1/2" fork brace, 'Busa fender, stainless exhaust & brake lines, belly pan, LED dash & brake bulbs, 140/80 rear hoop, F tail lens, SV650 shock, Bandit400 hugger, aluminum heel guards & pegs, fork preload adjusters, .75 SonicSprings, heated grips

I did the front with some off ebay years ago.  I hacked off my rear end so no rear pegs

Hey ShowBizWolf.  Do u have a link to the gsxr pegs you ordered? I understand they need some modification.

Sure! Just know that I ordered these not being 100% sure that they would work. I searched for threads having to do with what year/look/type of pegs would/should work... that's where I got my information (which wasn't a lot tbh).

I figured for the price, it was worth a shot. It's not like I've never modified anything to fit my GS before :icon_rolleyes:
