Just bought a 2004 gs500f today. Very excited to ride it... Too bad that it's actually supposed to snow this weekend where I am (Nebraska).

Congrats man! that's a very fine example of a 2004 500.  Very clean and looks well taken care of.  I'm sure you'll enjoy her. Let us know how you are diggin it from time to time!  Lots of talented and smart folks here (of which I am not one) that can help you with most questions you may run across.  I suggest getting a manual so you can read up on it and some of the regular maintenance you may need to do from time to time,  for example, carb cleaning,  and valve clearance checks.

Thanks everyone. This is basically my first real bike in a long time. I had a Honda CB900 about 15 years ago and then sold it and didn't have a bike since then.

Last month I bought a 250cc dual sport. It got me back into bikes, but it was not great on the road. I sold it after a month of having it. Then, I found my current bike. I'm looking forward to registering it this week!

Looks like you got a good deal. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine! Very clean exterior, but don't assume they maintained the mechanics as well. So, be sure to check valve clearance.
