I am jinxed: Fuel lines

Ok, so I change the fuel lines twice and they still have a slight leak.  I think I pinched the two hoses that connect to the tank fuel chicken with the retainer clip. :x  My luck = Old hoses (weathered) no leak.  New hoses = Leak.  I must have broked the 7 year seal from the original hoses. (The GS is a 97)

It may also be the fuel chicken assembly at the tank.
Has anyone put the fuel lines without a retainer clip?
Has anyone experienced the same kind of problems?  Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

GRU

yeah, i had the same problem...it was leaking from the tank petcock and i just bought some silicone or something like that put it on top of the old gasket....it solved the problem

The clips are usually applied on the straight part of the fuel tank petcock outlets.  Try applying them closer to the end, where the outlet tubes bulge a bit.  The way I figure it, the hoses are stretched to their tightest at that point, so it should be harder to pinch them.

Worth a shot?
