Guy at my local Autozone says they have this battery in stock.  Anyone know if it will fit in the 500F?  I know the voltage and Ah are correct.  Here's the link to the part:

You want one with the vent (that little nipple off to one side) on the opposite side. The gasses from the battery can eat away at the wires that are on that side of the bike.
E body with an F engine. I call her Sheila. She's got plenty of problems, but I'm here to sort her out and get her in tip-top shape.

Yes and no.

The A2 part means the vent is on the LH side, the GS5 needs a B2, vent on the RH side.............The notion is that there is less chance of acid spilling out when its on the side stand.

I always used the more common A2 replacement batteries on my 2 GSs for the 15 years and 180k miles I ran them year around here in NE Ohio.  Just hung the vent hose down to where it wouldn't harm anything.   :dunno_black:
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

The vent is there with the intention of letting gas out not acid.

Personally I don't want acid dripping out of any battery of mine under any circumstance, i see it as being irresponsible and a risk to others but hey.......your bike, your choice  :dunno_black:
