Delkevic 350mm Oval Exhaust

Got one of these on the way for my 11 GS500F. Should be a big improvement weight and sound wise over the stock can. Can't believe it was so cheap! Decided that 320mm looked a little short and 420mm too long. This should be just right Will update with pics when I get it in and on the bike. Seems most have pretty good experiences with these. Anyone out there got a pic of one on a 500F they would like to share?

Those look really good, I've been looking at replacing a haggard old nexxus can with something like that, I think you are definitely onto something with 350mm being about right though. Shame the one I was after is 300mm or 400mm and not 350mm.... Its taking BW ages to make some more so I might be copying you with one of these before too long...

Did you install yours yet. Just put mine on and noticed the mid pipe is awful close to the rear brake pedal. If you press the break hard enough it hits the pipe. Do you have this issue as well?

On another note, my muffler has a leak where it is riveted together. Hoping their customer support is good.

No, these are just some I found on eBay. The stock ones are pretty long and I just liked the look of these better

I still haven't had a chance to install it. I'm now thinking of ordering the header pipes for it as well so it all matches. Didn't think about the silver going to black
That does look pretty close to the rear brake although the pic on the Delkevic site also shows it right there so I don't think there is anything wrong with your install.
That's a bugger about the leak. Let me know how you get on with them!

Also, did you cut the pipe on the bike, what did you use (hacksaw or grinder) and how far from the weld did you cut the pipe? Instructions say 70mm. I assume that would be right

I don't really fit in to this conversation but if you are cutting a muffler you definitely want to do it off the bike (!) And if you have a choice probably easiest to cut the outlet end. Tons of YouTube videos showing how to chop a muffler. Hack saw will take a long time and angle grinder will risk rapidly escalating screw ups. I used a sawzall and cleaned up with a flat file, results were acceptable but not perfect, but my muffler was old and denty to begin with. If I was doing this again on a nice new muffler I'd use a cut off disc in my 7" miter saw. If you don't have that tool, do yourself a favor and find a friend who does.

I used a small hand hack saw to make the cut. It took ages (3 blades and 30min) but it came out pretty clean and didn't  require me to take the whole exhaust off the bike. It was pretty obvious where to cut. On my 2010 model it has one small 1inch skinny section. I cut it right there so the midpipe could slide on over top of it. Fingers crossed Delkevic is kind and sends me another at no charge.

One word of advise is carefully when tightening the clamps. I ended up stripping mine trying to get it as tight as possible. Hopefully it won't have to come off anytime soon.

Thanks for the advice! I'll keep the over tightening the clamps in mind I do tend to get a bit heavy handed with those kind of things myself. Any luck with Delkevic? I've been so busy with work and kids lately I still haven't even had a chance to look at putting this on! haha.

Just heard back from them today. They confirmed via the video I sent them that it was defective and shipped out a new one at no cost.
Very pleased with their customer service. 2 day shipping up here to Canada and they didn't change me for shipping or duties.

Thankfully the screw that got stripped was the one that attaches the mid pipe to the cut off header so I can just leave it be.
A quick 5min swap of the muffler and I will be good to go. Going to try do it this weekend.

On another note, the exhaust sounds amazing. Much better then stock. Disappointed that I didn't switch it out earlier since I've already had the bike 4 years.

Even though I've got the faired model, that little bit of black pipe section is probably going to annoy my OCD haha

I have heard there is a bit of an issue with having to repack the delkevic pipes after a while. Hope that's not too bad
