Hi everybody
My name is Vagelis and I am from Greece.
First of all sorry for my English, I will try to do the best I can.

One small comments for the registration process, that finally manage to come through yesterday. It took me 30 minutes to succeed because it was very difficult to read the CAPTCA letters and also the safety questions need as an answer the word "Sparkplug" than "Spark plug" that I wrote.
I have a 1992 GS500E. The last 5 years I don't use it so it is laying in my work place.
I am seriously thinking of convert it to a scrambler. There are many tricky thinks that someone should be careful in such a conversion, so that the final result  will be good. The most difficult I think is the way to handle the seat and the front suspension. As for the seat I think I will find the way. My main question is for the front suspension. To be honest one thing  that I don't like at a GS500 is the driving position. I would prefer to have different position (a Yamaha TDM driving position is very near to my needs). Also I would like to have a bigger front suspension travel  and changing handling bars. Generally I would like one more standing (google translation) driving position.. And here is my question.
Does anyone have in mind what front suspension system will fit to the GS 500 with the minimum conventions. I would like to say that I will keep the rims.
Thanks for your time.

Welcome Vagelis!

I found out a few years ago that the forks from an old Suzuki GS850 "G" slip right into the front of the GS500. I specify the "G" model because they make a "GL" model as well. With the "G" forks you get a taller front end with possibly more travel.

If you can't find any answers here, look around on ADVRider as well - there are a couple scrambler conversions there .

It's opener there in the wide open air...

Thanks for your answer. The model GS 850 G isnt very famouse here in Greece so not many spoare parts are available.
May be i must look for a total fron suspension system from another bike.
But this wont be easy as many convertions will be needed.
Thanks for your time
