Noticed yesterday that I lost one of the side mount bolts on my headlight.  I was heading out to take my kids to a movie so I thought I'd pull the other side bolt out so I could pick up a new one at a hardware store.  When I removed the bolt on the other side, I head something fall down on the inside... Must be the but.  When I look in the hole of the side I just removed, I can see a white plastic retainer of some sort.  The side that had the missing bolt doesn't have this visible unless it fell down in housing.  I gave it a quick look since I had to leave but I'm not sure how to get the light open to reattach the bolts.  Do I need to remove the bezel to get into the light?  I saw only one small screw on the bezel and I'm not sure if that is an aiming screw or what.  Anyway, how do I get this back together?

Hiya el_brio,

I'm guessing the screw you saw is the aiming screw... it's on the ring itself. But the ones you want are on the underneath of the headlight bucket and are flush with the surface of the bucket. They hold the chrome ring and glass lens to the bucket itself. You'll have to remove those screws to get to the inside. Might take some careful prying because the bucket has tabs that kinda click into the chrome ring to secure it.

The bucket should have a black rubber grommet on each side and a white plastic spacer looking thing (what you saw) in the middle of the black grommet, also on both sides. AFAIK this is to prevent vibration from blowing out headlight bulbs.

Hope this helps!
