I was the one with the pain in the ass with a 2007 GS500F with 4000 Mi on it when I pick it up and eat in a new battery which I brought it started up but wouldn't stay running I'm a commercial Turf Equipment mechanic so I've been working with carburetors for a long time but I will have to tell you these were different than anything I've ever worked on in my 40 years the person who owned it before switch vacuum lines and it had sad for like 3 years I pulled the carbs off cleaned them and it ran okay but the more gas I put through it what's the detergent in the gas it just seems to be running better and better I've owned a lot of bikes in my life but I'm really getting to love this GS500F it's kind of finicky with the carb once in awhile the idol will hang but I can live with that I have not drilled out the plugs for the low speed gas and air adjustment but nothing you can fix thank you everybody

yeah, buddha is the go to guy on carbs, watcher has his areas of expertise as well. now when it comees to tires, get ahold of GsJack. he knows tires. @mmi we used to gs to learn carbs, synching etc. ( it was the only bike i could walk easily.) this was before the f. we had mainly 97 and 98 Es . gotta watch out these things can be addictive lol. plus i love the fuel shut off screw on the tank. it makes carb jobs quite easy.

I'm by no means an expert on these bikes, most of what I know is from my own experiences tinkering and working through issues, so I'm glad I was able to help in some way.

But the beautiful thing about forums is that if you have a question there's bound to be someone with an answer.  Whether it's me, Buddha, GsJack, mr72, Sledge - far more than I can list here off the top of my head - this is a good community that won't (intentionally) steer you wrong.
