Motorizing a knee scooter Lol it is a knee rover all terrain.
First attempt didn't work too well.
ReAre supports didn't work because they'd hit the engine spacer.

So I moved the front mount as close to seatpost . which this is where I'm at now. Possibly complete by tues.

I don't have much to say, but I am interested in seeing where you get with this.

me too lol. going to mount engine combined with drive and test fire it today. ( also mount controls and cables. possibly also drill and shorten supports. it MIGHT be finished today if all goes well. only part left would be to build the outrigger/or training wheel for engine side.)
Pics will be taken today as well and uploaded.

Hoping to have it on road this weekend. It ran for the first time an hour ago. Tapped out my Paypal act getting many of the needed parts. Need to get a set of mtb handlebars. This set of bars isn't quite what I need. Found a set locally for around 35. Need to get that before final assembly. Along with asset of grips.

potentially may have assembly complete tomorrow. have to pull engine/drive to line up and secure front mount, then re mount engine/drive , then drill and shorten rear supports, and mount those. then essentially im done.   except for controls.

noticed a minor issue i must address first.  i have to lengthen the rear axle so the supports hit it at 90 deg. not a big deal. should be able to use a front anxle off of a parts bike. ideally looking for an inch extra on both sides.

found my solution if it fits. yyanked the back axle out of a huffy rockit. (bought it like new for 15 from a pawnshop.) using it for parts mainly. if that axle fits im good. if it doesnt , will have to possibly pick up a 9.5mm roughly threaded rod from maybe an ace hardware. prolly 6" in length.

Will do this tomorrow. Heres a closeup of the back of the frame where the axle mounts.nthe socket extension is what I need the length to be, plus it fits great in the wheel bearing. Too bad I couldnt thread that Lol. Will try threaded rod from ace hardware.

Aaron
Will get a larger picture showing it as it sits tomorrow
Ps.if you. Look at the upper left of pic you will see a bit of the engine guard

must  fabricate the axle  before anything else is done. once cause its needed in order to shorten the rear supports. once that is done, wheel is mounted, supports are put in place, grips are mounted and i go for a ride, after putting on my tortoise shell helmet. im almost done :)

I won't claim to understand your desire to do this, but I have to say I'm glad you're doing it. Entertaining thread for sure. Following along.

yamahonkawazuki

it  would  be my way of getting out of  the house whenever i wished. instead of waiting on a ride . :)
if i wished to just go somewhere id have the  ability to do so.  without pulling someone away from what they were doing.

Am at a bit of a standstill. i can either purchase a long socket extension (10" 3/8) zip the 2 ends off and thread that, or just locate some 8mm threaded rod. the threaded rod will be cheaper. and imho just as good. thing is, nobody locally carries it so will have to  order it. off to amazon lol.

There will PROBABLY be a speed run to see. But ill do that one after I set up a training wheel on engine/stuMP side. Have to get axle made first. Was tossing idea of a craftsman 3/8" 10" socket extension, zipping off the ends, and threading it. But for now just looking at 8mm threaded rod. Off to amazon-mart i go.
