so, let me start off by saying, in my 2005 ive never pulled them out.. decided with my carb rebuild kit i was gonna replace the little o-rings that the rebuild kits give you. An I saw something interesting...

now looking at the engine from the natural sitting position.
The left carbs mixture screw had in this order. Screw body > Spring > O-ring > metal washer > O-ring.
The right carbs mixture screw had in this order. Screw body > Spring > O-ring

:dunno_black:

who did this? P/O I know it was you!  :D
Just all I care about is, WHY!?

It's suppose to be Screw body > Spring > Metal washer > O-ring

Where on earth am I gonna buy a tiny metal washer now.

They may have unscrewed it too far and had it come off in their hand and the washer went missing is my guess.
Cool.

I did that once. Lost one of those washers. Not only will the bike not run right without it, but it'll chew up the o ring.

Easiest to buy the entire new pilot needle assy with spring and all.

just got done making a little steel washer. it'll do for now, until I can find myself some right gauge brass plate. I marked the carb with a paint pen reminding myself.

but two o-rings?! lol! musta got confused as to why the rebuild kit comes with two tiny orings.  :D

You only want one o-ring. :)

it sould be needle->spring->washer->o-ring.

The o-ring seats against the inside of the carb. The washer isolates the o-ring from the spring.

^ yes I know this. I was pointing out that it was funny someone used two o-rings, on the site WITH the washer lol
