Anybody know what this unconnected black wire with white stripe is doing on my '92?

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

Black with White tracer is the standard ground for most components.

Check your side stand switch/cut out. Thats the only B/W single bullet connector in that part of the harness.

i've got one of those too... i'm in the middle of reconnecting my entire wiring harness.  when i get to that one, i'll let you know, unless someone else does first.

Yep, me too.

When I first saw it I wondered . . . but not too much though 'cause the bike ran fine.   ;)

Well, either we all have bum bikes or it's meant to be that way . . . I just wonder what it's for . . .

It's an accessory plug.
Actually, I'm just guessing...   :dunno:

But it's not the side stand...  my side stand switch works but I've still got this wire also...

It should show what it is in the eletrical schematic in the manual.  Key word is SHOULD

I looked at the scematic, that  is how I made my guess.  The problem is that there are lots of B/W wires in the harness. Its hard to know what that is without seeing where it came from...
