Hello. Carl here. '09 Suzuki GS500 owner. I am looking for recommendations on a great, round headlight? One that's really bright and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

I took off the OEM headlight as I'm converting my baby to a naked look and I bought this on Amazon, Krator 7" Black Vintage Antique Style Grill Prison Chopper Motorcycle Bobber Headlight https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E9GIMO6/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 However I can't see much at night. I even took off the grill to see if it would give me more light and it doesn't by much. I get out of work a lot late and I need to see at night!

Any links, recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Here's my GS attached without the OEM headlight but the Amazon one.

I read the old archives and I found this topic, LED headlight??? http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=70117.msg843262#msg843262 Does anyone know how bright this Third Gear 3 EYES LED ALL METAL HEADLIGHT really is at night?

Cheers.

what bulb is in that?  you might be able to upgrade your bulb??  Im using an old round light off a kawasaki and the bulb in it was so so.  I had some new spares and swapped one in and it made a huge difference.

Hiya Carl!

There are some pretty good LED headlight threads floating around... after a quick search I found this one that might be of use to you. It's a bit of a read but there's some good information in it:

When I still had a round headlight on my GS, I swapped in the Native H4 bulb from advmonster.com and I loved it! I work night shift and ride as much as I can so better lighting for me was great.

good headlight on a GS? HAH! buy night vision goggles instead, it will be cheaper.

Here's a final update upon ShowBizWolf's recommendation, i bought a Native H4 - ADVmonster and here's the comparison attached, before and after with my original GERMANY BILUX 12V 60/55W H4U37R vs a Native H4 - ADVmonster. Definitely better but i think this shitty Amazon Chopper Motorcycle Bobber Headlight doesn't really help the cause, perhaps holding back the full potential of the Native H4 - ADVmonster. Or besides J_Walker is right, night vision goggles would be better for night riding on a GS.  ;)

Awesome to see those comparison pics!

AFAIK the Native H4 was designed specifically to work with the halogen reflectors in a stock housing. I'm glad to see the increase in light output without it being scattered all over the place and being useless!! (which can indeed happen, see my project thread lol)

...Maybe try to obtain a stock GS E headlight housing for the Native bulb?
