Rear shock bottomed down

My rear shock is bottomed down when I sit, it seems the only thing holding the back of the bike from going all way down is the chain, that gets tensioned.

The problem started out of nowhere while in a road the bike started shaking like crazy, specially past 60~80km/h.

For what I've seen, it seems to be some kind of "damper seal" I don't know the name for it in English, but it's a small round rubber that goes inside the damper, the name for it in portuguese is "retentor".

Does anyone know:
A) The name of this "damper seal" in English
B) The dimensions of it in Suzuki GS 500 04

Thanks!

If you have the stock shock, I don't know if they are rebuildable. You would be better off replacing.

Check the mounts and linkages first though, sounds to me like something has come adrift. Even if you have lost the fluid out of the damper the spring should hold the rear end at the correct height. It will be bouncing up and down without proper damping and would have been a gradual thing rather than sudden.

Check ALL of the following.
Upper shock mount.
Lower shock bolt
front shock knuckle bolt ( to the frame)
Dogbone links ESPECIALLY if they are custom ones and especially if they have been cut and welded ( very common for welded ones to break)
Dogbone link bolts
Shock spring isn't broken ( it happens. not common , but it happens)
Upper spring retainer isn't broken
Lower spring tensioner hasn't broken the welds and let the spring past.

Bent shock is possible but very unlikely, but check anyway.
