Succes story: Fixed vibration/buzzing issue.

I realise this might be a bit random and maybe only specific to a few GS500 models, but I still feel the need to share my succes, hoping it might help another frustrated GS owner 
So I had been having a rather large amount of noise around the 5k rev range. Using the search function told me this was normal for the GS 500.
However my gut told me otherwise and after further investigation, I discovered two very clear wear marks on the underside of my "interior" faring under the speedo.

The culprit was the mounting/support "framework" for the lights and front end farings etc, ofcause in combination with the pictured fairing, or should I call it trim? I'm not sure. 
As indicated by the wear pattern, the plastic had been rubbing, or rather vibrating against the metal tube underneath.

As far as I know, this is specific to the models with the TCP fairings. Mine's a GS 500 E 1998.

My fix for the time being, consist of simply wrapping the tube with a small piece of soft foam material and electrical tape, the difference was immense.
For good measure I would like to also point out that it was without a doubt engine rpm related and although I experienced great improvements, I don't claim to now own a silent GS. It still gets pretty chatty around the 5k range
