Movement between inner and outer rings of front brake disc ??

This is probably a dumb-ass question but I have only previously only had old-time bikes with plain solid brake discs, and I was rather surprised to find some detectable movement between the inner and outer 'rings' of the front disks, which are not solidly joined but are instead separated by several round grommets. Is this normal ? Cheers

Floating disc. A number of reasons for them and all good. a small side to side is desireable forward back not as good. If it looks in good condition it probably is.
