Suzuki GS 500 problem in driving

Please help I have a GS 500E from 1992 engine while driving after 2-3 km change the sound starts to slow down and suffocates after releasing the gas for a few seconds the engine returns to normal which could be a problem please help what to watch

Try with the petcock on prime.

Thank you, I will try, but also at the moment when the engine is choking, there is gasoline in the fuel filter, but I will definitely try to drive with PRI

Just remember to never leave the bike parked while on Prime... unless you know your carbs are in perfect working order.

When you say fuel filter, I'm imagining you have an inline one? For what it's worth, the GS didn't come with any stock inline fuel filters and there is a chance it could be causing a problem.

Yes someone installed an extra fuel filter because the tank has rust inside the motorcycle stood for a long time until I bought it from the previous owner I repaired the carburetors with the original Suzuki parts of the new needle and seat and a set of rubbers for the lower part of the carburetor

Showbiz! What setting should it be at while parked then? I just picked up a 99 gs500, my first bike ever and I do not know the condition of my carbs. Mine does have an online fuel filter installed on it though It's been set to prime since I've had it.

leave it on ON or RUN when parked. Whichever it is labeled, can't remember.

Yes, the bike's frame petcock should be set to ON for normal riding and for parking. You can also let the bike parked on RES (Reserve) without risk of problems.
