change gs 500e 1989 clipons to handlebars .. bars hit forks

As Above. On amy 1989 gs the forks have raised bolt-like nipples  that catch the curve of the handle bars .I have changed the top yoke to the handlebar type.. Wondering if they are changeable or its a matter or using risers to clear them . Thanks folks

I'm imagining you mean your fork caps are the adjustable kind? They can stick up quite far, you're right.

You can lower the forks in the clamps (as I will need to do when I install my new forks) or yes, you can get some risers for your new bars.

I have bought some adjustable reisers that have  several different heights controlled by various shims so hope i can get something comfortable.... cheers ... good ;uck with your bars , those  risers in the link look nice ...
