Starting a new thread rather than resuscitating an old one.  I'm looking for some side bags, the ones I have are of poor quality and insufficient size.  Link below is what I'm looking at and wondering if anyone has an experience based opinion or another suggestion in the sub-$100 price range.  Needs to be quality enough to get a couple of seasons out of.

Mainly looking for something big enough to hold a helmet.  If it'll hold that, it'll hold anything else I might want to put in there.  The main reason for me to keep my scooter is for shopping with it's big two-helmet top box.  If I can add some cargo capacity to the GS, then I can sell the scooter and not miss it.  I wouldn't mind putting a top box on as well, but the racks seem pretty spendy for my budget.  Maybe I can fabricobble something over the winter.  Still wanting the side bags though.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Kilted, check out the Nelson-Rigg soft saddlebags and tail bags at https://www.nelsonrigg.com/

I have had the DLSB-500 deluxe saddlebag system for several years, and have been very happy with it.  They have been obsoleted now, but have nearly identical updates now in production, priced at about $150.  They just zip and don't lock, and even if they did lock they could be cut open, but if you don't need high security they're a fine product backed by a great company.  Several times I have lost a strap, and when I call them to buy a replacement they just send me one for free.  However, my helmet won't quite fit in either the saddlebag or the tail bag. My tail bag, which detaches and can be carried like a gym bag, is big enough but the zippered opening is a little too narrow to get a helmet in.  So, if you need helmet storage, you'll have to get on the phone to them and ask if they have a little bigger one that will work.
