Howdy. Working on a 2000 GS500E today. Went to release the cam tower caps, and upon lifting the exhaust cam up, discovered the B clamp is cracked. And not in a good place either.

It's not going to be possible to weld and machine it due to the crack being directly against the bolt boss. Looking online, these are obviously not available new. Any input on where I might find a replacement, another model of GS compatible with, or donor machine?

Motor only has 11k and no apparent wear other than a spent tensioner. (Replacement ready to be ordered if I can resolve the cam tower clamp.

Replacement cylinder head off ebay?

Not funny.
Actually, until I find a replacement, I made a jig, bolted it up, and then TIG welded it back together after some work with a carbide. I'm not confident it will hold as I didn't grind they to the bottom (cam journal face). But, maybe after it anneals, it might be worth a go. Fingers crossed until a better remedy surfaces.
