G,day lads and lasses. First time poster here.

Had my 2012 Gs500 for about a year now down in Queensland, Australia, and I'm looking to upgrade the front and rear suspension. Just wondering what you guys think are the best springs and shocks to fit the bike. Keep in mind, I'm about 110kg.

Also, looking to clean up the rear of the bike, so does anyone know what the legal consequence is of cutting the rear fender with a grinder?

Welcome to the forum!

Sounds like the Katana shock would be a good swap for you, based on the weight you listed. Check out the list of shock swaps here in the wiki and more information about them:

I (along with several others here) like Sonic Springs for the forks. Here's the spring rate calculator on their site so you can enter your information and see which ones would be best for you:

Fenderectomys are certainly popular but me being in the States, I couldn't tell ya what the rules are where you are about them. Somebody will reply I'm sure and help ya out.

I like the look of your GS! Dig that belly pan and muffler.

Hope you stick around the forum and update us on what you do

The Buddha

You can cut the fender with a little pocket knife, using a grinder is like using an atom bomb on an anthill. But hey, your call.
Cool.
