2006 gs 500f charging problem

I have charging system problems with my 2006 GS500F. With both headlights disconnected and the engine running my voltmeter shows 13 1/2 to 14 volts  seems all is well.when I connect both headlights it doesn't seem to charge at all with the engine running I'm showing 11.5 volts. Does anybody know what to try to diagnose and the procedure I should exercise to figure out this problem.Thank you very much in advance

Before you bang your head against the wall and spend tons of money and time, test with a known good battery! I'll bet your problem is there. What is the manufacture date on your battery? Even "new" batteries are known to fail.

many of us on here have stories of wasting time and money when it was simply a bad battery.

Once that is done report back and we can go further.
as a quick check, what is your battery voltage after standing for a night, what is your battery voltage after switching on the headlight for 10 to 15 minutes (engine off)

Assuming you don't have a short in the headlight circuit, the regulator rectifier may be going out. Wiring almost definitely corroded or melting. This is a sign of one or more of the following: high resistance between regulator rectifier and battery terminals, bad component inside regulator rectifier.

That's not to say the battery is not also going bad. The charging system on a gs500 is marginal even when in perfect condition.

The battery is 2 months old and l took it to the suzuki dealer and they did a voltage test and load test and it came through with flying colors

i think the max charging power is produced at 5000 rpm so rev it up and re-check it.
