Is it possible to advance the ignition for 90s bikes? In a hope for a few more hp =) wiki says the diy is for pre-01 models.

So i broke my frame covers for my 97 gs500e and found out they discontinued new frame covers for my model so i was just wondering how hard it would be to convert to gs500f frame covers and what all i would need to do to make it work??
