stuttering on highway

Hi all!

So i recently bought my first bike, a Suzuki gs500e from 1993.
I brought it to the shop to let it be checked and change all the filters and a new chain.

When I took it on my first ride everything was fine untill i hit the highway and was driving a comfortable 65mph.
It started stuttering softly at the beginning en slowly getting worse within a 1-2 minute time frame.
I pulled over and as I was decelerating the engine just shut off at arround 30 mph.

The engine didnt want to start until i put the petcock on prime.
I tried driving on RES en ON a few other times as well but with the same result.

The strange thing is that this only happens on the highway and only after a couple of minutes.

I took the carburator out and cleaned it. And I also replaced the vacuumhose and fuellines, installed new rubber between the carburator and the inlet, but all with no result.
im slowly getting a bit crazy here cause i really wanna just ride my bike en enjoy the good weather :hithead:.

Does anybody have any suggestion on what it could be?
Bike starts perfectly and runs perfectly, this only occurs on the highway.

Greetings from Holland. (which might explain any mistakes made in the text)

I'm thinking you're getting a vacuum lock in the tank - as to why prime fixes it - it may be just the time it spends stalled out.

Cool.
