Greetings, all! First post here, after finding a lot of useful information. Especially for a non-mechanically-inclined person.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I've not come across it in my searches.

I got my 1995 GS500E back in October, wanting something fun for this year's Reliability Rally. It ran, but roughly, and wouldn't take any throttle.

After pulling the carbs to clean & rebuild them, it ran much more smoothly, but still isn't taking any throttle. It's just stalling right out when I twist it.

It would appear, after putting everything back as it was when purchased, that some pieces are missing from the fueling/petcock system.

I'm missing the vacuum hose, and the t-connector, and I've run into a stop with my Clymer's manual. Here's hoping someone here can help out a new guy.

What size tubing and t-connector would I need to get for this? Are there any reliable sources for these parts? And, maybe most importantly, where does the 3rd end of the T connect? It's not shown anywhere that I've been able to find.

Thank you in advance.

I do not know which T-connector you are referring but your bike has same issue as my gs and the old fuel petcock is broken. The vacuum part starts to leak so it is obviously disabled from your bike. You can block the vacuum hose from the carbs and remove the old poor petcock and replace it with on/off version.

Your issue might be that it is leaking from the carbs vacuum hose into the cylinder or it is not getting any gas. Update your fuel system!

Have a look  here for diagrams and part numbers.......but no doubt there will be a dealer closer to you.

Sorry for hi-jacking the thread. Is it necessary to block the vacuum hose/breather on the carbs if they are not attached to the petcock anymore? My GS also refuses to take throttle. the PO did replace the petcock with an on/off unit, however, he also removed the t-piece on the breathers and left it open.
