Gs500 compatible handlebars?

Hi all, I was looking at putting gz250 cruiser type handlebars on my gs500e but the clamp spacing is slightly off. Could I put some thin rubber in for friction or does anyone know of any hacks for this or different types of bars that suit that aren't too costly?

What's not fitting I thought all these are 7/8th, are GZ250 bars smaller ?

The rubber isn't the best option, I would use a soda can wall. Its softer aluminum, hard as you need and not squishy and lasts forever and abundant as the nearest trash can.
