Buzz/rattle on engine rev-down

Hey all,

I've gotten tons of help from this forum just by searching, without needing to post a new thread, but I need some help here.

The problem is: When I quickly drop the throttle, there is a disconcerting buzz/rattle from the engine area. Not really able to narrow down where. Happens when riding or when sitting in the garage.

Listen here:
https://youtu.be/b7g_X50MNpM

Bike: 2005 Suzuki gs500f
Miles: 17K miles on odometer (bike had several previous owners, has obviously had work on it before, so cannot verify)
Background: Recently adjusted valve clearances and balanced carbs. Wish I had measured the timing chain and examined the front tensioner guide while I was in there. Bike starts easily and runs strong. Compression is good.

All comments appreciated (check this, measure that...)
Thanks!

Look for something loose, like the tank or the exhaust, etc.

Hi,

Thanks for asking. Sound is still there. The sound seems loudest on the left front corner of the bike. It does have a cheap muffler that is loosely mounted (was tight, but daughter banged it up a bit...)

The past couple weeks the bike has been busy with me doing a full carb rebuild. Then she and BF were putting new blinkers on the front. That's all done, and just now she starts up instantly on a cool day, and no gasoline dripping while she sits.   :woohoo:

But the flip side is we haven't had time to debug this problem.

I'll update more as I learn more.
