After all the tune up and cleaning work, the Wee Suzy fired right up and settled into a nice steady idle.

The chain was very unevenly worn and went tight to slack as the bike rolled.

And the old chain was losing its O-rings.  Red arrow.

So I bought a new EK 520 O-ring roller chain, and decided to jump up a tooth to 17 on the gearbox sprocket which took a 100 kph cruise from 5000 to 4700 rpm.  But the biggest re-gearing benefit is a longer revout in the lower gears.

She's a very efficient engine returning about 30 km/liter.

Had to add the last image is a subsequent note.

The OEM chain was very unevenly worn with very slack and very tight sections.

So I got a new EK 520 O-ring chain and upped the gearbox a tooth to 17.

This lowered the 100 kph cruise rpm from 5000 to about 4700, but the real benefit was to give the lower 3 gears more rev out range.

The OEM chain was also losing its O-rings, see red arrow.

The OEM chain on the Wee Suzy was badly worn and losing its O-rings.

So I bought a new EK 520 O-ring chain and went up to 17 teeth on the gearbox sprocket.  This lowered the 100 kph cruise speed rpm from 5000 to about 4700, and gave a longer rev out in the lower gears.

Waiting for more,... this was a great read.  I almost picked up a f version last week but came to my senses.  I like that shield.  I wonder how a lowered f would look hmmm

Wow , the old sprocket looks quite worn on one side, wonder if the rear wheel alignment was out....
