brown wire

ok so the other day I installed an led plate light and connected it to the brown wire for power and the black w/white stripe for ground from the tail light. now the brown wire is showing no voltage and ofcourse no light. what, why, and how do i fix the brown wire? it worked for a few second while i tested it. next time, nothing.  should have pointed out its an 05 f US

 I guess im asking the wrong question. I was hoping someone knew of the origin of the brown wires source of power. Im thinking its the yellow/white after its connection with the grey wire. problem is Im not sure, and also dont know where the yellow/white is located to even test it. I sware Im not trying to be lazy. I just had open heart surgery. Still drugged up and moving slow. oxycodone isnt very conducive to solving wiring issues :embarrassed:

yellow white borns in handle switch, is fed from orange, ignition switch ON(key turned)

fixed. I didnt push the igntion plug in all the way. grey wasnt conecting to brown.
