left side switch assembly (2002) - help??? mystery spring

I changed out the handlebars and the left side switch assembly popped open and everything came out. I am able put the choke back in but I am left with a mystery spring that I'm fairly certain goes on the choke control...somewhere...if anyone can post a pic of theirs or any guidance I would be super grateful for the assist. Thank you : )
